Sarcasm Reviews Another Board!

If you are like me, if you shake the family tree all kinds of nuts are bound to fall out. With my nutcase, she has lost her freaking mind! I remember all the stories my mom told me as I was growing up about how she wasn’t allowed to see or communicate with her father because my grandmother was trying to spite him by keeping his kids from him. In the end, all it ever really hurt were the kids. They grew up not knowing the real story behind it, and resentful of everyfreakingone involved. As one of you kindly pointed out to me on Facebook the other day, you can always pick and choose your friends, but family is forever! Such is my situation now with my grandchildren. I’m not allowed to see or have any contact whatsoever with them.  Apparently I am a nutcase and a danger to … Read more

Sarcasm Posted A Review

A few days ago I posted a review of a tool a lot of us fellow beaders use, or are at are familiar with – the bead board. My review was only by two makers of the tool, but I am working on getting more to compare. I received some comments here, along with emails, Facebook and Twitter messages regarding The Bead Pad and the bead trays made by Silaba Crafts in the U.K., and would love to try both, and any others that are out there, as well. Anyways, I just wanted to post the responses I got from Bead On It Boards and The Bead Wrangler. Honestly, I was only trying to make a comparison of the two tools, as I liked the BOIB, and currently love The Bead Wrangler. A lot of you out there have been making your own trays or boards with picture frames, steering wheel covers, plastic lids, baking sheets, and other … Read more

Sarcasm Talks Bead Boards!

Helloooo again my fellow beaders! It is good to be back among you, even if it is just from the sidelines! This whole crater-in-the-arm-thing has left me with an infection of such grand proportions that I am unable to bead. It is simply too painful. Soooo, I thought I would bring you something I had been putting off for a while anyway – a comparison of bead boards that I did. Now I’m not wanna-be-Prez-Trump-rich, so I could only compare two, but I hope you find it informative anyway! My first beading board was the “Bead on It!” beading board (BOIB). You can purchase those at Potomac Bead Company or Beyond Beadery in several prints and sizes, or over at Fusion Beads in their signature hot pink in the same variety of sizes. According to the label on the back of my first two boards (a 6×11 and 8×11), they have a 2008 copyright, … Read more

Sarcasm Got Her Groove On!

You all are going to HAVE to start sending me sarcasm and bead memes. I went to Google them for this blog and the first three rows that popped up were actually from this blog! Ha! I guess that means I have some sort of web presence, even if it IS as a snarky beader! You can send them to my email at tinybead@beccasbeadedbangles.com by the way! So this week I have been taking it really easy and taking a LOT of naps because of this nasty MRSA infection that has caused a crater in my beading arm. LOTS of naps, because I gotta tell ya, fever and infection will flat wear you out! Besides, it’s rather painful to bead with this giant, antibiotic-resistant hole in my arm. Anywho, I DID get one project finished, and I’m rather proud of getting it done, because it is one I have been putting … Read more

Sarcasm Talks Retirement

I was sent this by a friend I’m not going to identify, it’s true, I promise! Anyways, thought you all would get a laugh from it! RETIREMENT (by a friend I won’t identify!) After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women – she loves to browse. Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target: Dear Mrs. Harris, Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband, Mr. Harris, are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras: 1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and … Read more

Sarcasm has a YouTube Tutorial!

Hey everyone, SO sorry to be running late this week, but well, I was in the hospital with this crater thing on my arm, and what was thought to be a spider bite turned out to be a nasty infection that was REALLY resistant to the antibiotics – even the IV ones! Anywho, y’all remember my “Penny Pincher” bracelet? You know, the one that was one of the winners of the Potomac Bead Company 2016 Design Challenge? You know, THIS one! Well, a lot of you have been asking for a tutorial for it, and though I haven’t finished the written one yet, Potomac Bead Company has posted a VIDEO tutorial of it by Allie Buchman, which can be found HERE. I absolutely ADORE the colors she chose, and though I used a one needle approach in making mine, she simplified it (yes it DOES simplify it!) by using a two needle approach. … Read more

Sarcasm Stands with The Thin Blue Line

Sometimes it is just better to leave well enough alone. However, when it comes to standing by the Thin Blue Line, I embrace it wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, over a weekend ago, when I changed my personal profile picture on my own private Facebook page to represent our beloved law enforcement (including my own husband), I was attacked and threatened by an individual in social media for it. Due to that attack ON me, the landlord whom I set up a LBS business with to sublet, the bead shop decided that it was ME who was too “controversial” to be allowed on the premises. Instead of standing by me not only as their ONLY published designer, instructor, and as a supposed “friend,” this bead shop owner banned me from their shop. Long story short, when I went to pick up my things, I was literally chased out the door to my car by the … Read more

Sarcasm Has Another Winner!

Happy Independence Day America! For those of you celebrating, PLEASE be courteous around pets, and especially near any former combat veterans when it comes to fireworks! It is a traumatic thing resembling gunfire to both of them, and you do not want to be the cause of a PTSD incident! As far as my beading goes this week, I submitted a third entry in the Dry Gulch Color Design Challenge for June (it, nor any of my other entries, won) and also played with my new peanut beads! I have had peanut beads for a while, but these are really cool, because they are 3x6mm! I don’t really have a name for this. I was just experimenting with the larger peanut beads and some right angle weave and this is what I came up with. The peanut beads are seafoam green, and I used 8/0 blue metallic iris and 11/0 galvanized copper to … Read more
