Sarcasm Makes a “Cameo” – Appearance

With grace (I hope), Sarcasm makes a “cameo” appearance in your lives once again. No, seriously, things have not been good for me healthwise as of late, to the point of spending way more time in hospitals than out, and that is just not fair to my readers. One of the issues I had to face was whether or not I had breast cancer – during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As of now, the answer to that one is a tentative no, but in three months –  who knows? But needless to say, there are some other very serious issues … Read more

Sarcasm is Rolling with Rivolis – a short tutorial!

It’s that time of year again. You know – the one where the weather is so unpredictable you don’t know whether to wear short sleeves with your boots and shorts, or long sleeves and pants with your flip-flops. Oh, wait – that’s only in Walmart…ha! Really though, the kids are getting out of school and/or graduating and parents everywhere are hiding the breakables and taking out second mortgages to pay for summer childcare. My daughter is lucky though, She has me to watch my grandson all summer while he is out of school, even though my Doodlebug will continue on with … Read more

Sarcasm does a Beaded Bezel Tutorial

Welcome back to another fun-filled week of snark, honorable mentions from the Challenge, some of my beadwork (yes, I have found some time to bead, despite everything that has been going on!), and a tutorial! This is going to be a long one, boys and girls, so grab on to your nearest glass of wine (or whatever else lifts your spirits) and hang on! First, let me apologize about the tone of last week’s posting. I know it was down and depressing, and I apologize. Sometimes though, you just need an outlet for your emotions, and since my family was center stage … Read more

Sarcasm Shows Off the Prize Pack!

If you are a parent or grandparent, then you probably know that this week is what is considered Dr. Seuss week for the “Read Across America” initiative at most schools, because it would have been Dr. Seuss’s 112th birthday this Wednesday. At my grandson’s school, they are doing something different every day. A different book, a different way to dress (within their uniform restrictions) and having reading programs galore. Read to your kids and grandkids, not just this week, but every single night! Not only do they benefit from learning words, phonics, letters, enunciation, and so much more, but YOU … Read more

Sarcasm Accepts Challenge Entries!

A few weeks ago, I gave a basic rundown of (at the time) most of the seed beads and two or more hole beads out on the market. This week, Bello Modo did a very thorough one, along with a review of each in their own blog here. I highly recommend you check it out! And did you know that Potomac Beads will be carrying the new Czech DiamonDuo Bead 2-Hole Diamond Shape Pressed Czech Glass Beads in just a few days? Allie Buchman of Potomac Beads Hagerstown, MD store describes them as a “softly faceted Kite shaped bead.” Wheeeeeeeee!!!!! What … Read more

Sarcasm does CRAW…..

This week has been a doozy! I won’t bore you with the long version, but short version is I had to get two crowns on Thursday due to a broken filling from over the holidays, and in the same day was scheduled for surgery this upcoming Tuesday with an Oral Surgeon, for a totally different tooth that abscessed over the holidays. Apparently it now has so much infection that it has spread into my jawbone. He’s removing the tooth, the roots, parts of the jawbone that are infected, and putting bone grafts in to replace them. Have I completely grossed … Read more

Sarcasm Does Seed Bead Cheat Sheets!

Welcome to 2016, the Year of the Monkey 猴, according to the Chinese Zodiac. It’s also a leap year, so all you folks who have been missing your birthday for the last three years finally get to celebrate next month. Aren’t you the lucky ones though? I would give anything to only age every four years! I don’t know if the rest of you are sticking to your resolutions, but hey, if that’s what you need to do, then do it! I don’t believe in resolutions myself. I just want to wake up every day believing that something I did … Read more

Sarcasm Does Cheat Sheets

Ahhhhh, that wonderful week after Christmas. You know, the one where the holiday excitement in your little one’s eyes is now glazed over by boredom (already!) with their newest toys and gadgets and you are ready to climb the walls wanting them back in school? Yeah, that’s the one. I had almost forgotten what that feeling was like, and then wham! My grandson starts kindergarten and he is staying with us this week. But alas, my wonderful hubby being the awesome Grandpa that he is, has planned on taking him hunting and out to the farm for some target practice … Read more
