Sarcasm Shows Off the Prize Pack!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

If you are a parent or grandparent, then you probably know that this week is what is considered Dr. Seuss week for the “Read Across America” initiative at most schools, because it would have been Dr. Seuss’s 112th birthday this Wednesday. At my grandson’s school, they are doing something different every day. A different book, a different way to dress (within their uniform restrictions) and having reading programs galore. Read to your kids and grandkids, not just this week, but http://martinez-arbitration.com/?45 every single night! Not only do they benefit from learning words, phonics, letters, enunciation, and so much more, but YOU benefit by the quality time spent with your babies. There is absolutely nothing more precious than that.

So my blog has the little thing called a buy Seroquel on line without a rx CHALLENGE going on right now. If you are a regular reader, follow me on Facebook, or just about any other social media platform, then you have probably. heard about the Sarcastic Beads and Yarn Challenge Spring 2016 I’m holding over on Facebook. The rules are posted on the event page, but in short, you MUST be an email subscriber to this blog, and you HAVE to have liked my page on Facebook HERE. To subscribe to my blog from a desktop device, look in the upper left hand corner of this page for the subscriber box. Mobile users, just scroll down to the end of the page just past the comments to find that same box.

I have received a lot of great entries this week, which can be found by linking to the Contest Entries page in the Menu section for you mobile users, and the top of the page for desktop users. If you are submitting an entry, please be sure to include whose design you are using, the name of the design, and which of the Pantone colors (from the official Pantone Spring color palette below) you are representing. Each night, and sometimes throughout the day, I will upload your pictures to the official Challenge page here on the blog. Remember, you have until 11:59 p.m. on 3/18/16 to get your entries in, and you can enter as many times as you want!

Sarcasm Accepts Challenge Entries!

rules

A few weeks ago, I gave a basic rundown of (at the time) most of the seed beads and two or more hole beads out on the market. This week, Bello Modo did a very thorough one, along with a review of each in their own blog here. I highly recommend you check it out! And did you know thatĀ Potomac Beads will be carrying the new Czech DiamonDuo Bead 2-Hole Diamond Shape Pressed Czech Glass Beads in just a few days? Allie Buchman of Potomac Beads Hagerstown, MD store describes them as a “softly faceted Kite shaped bead.” Wheeeeeeeee!!!!!

What a week! I never expected such a response to my first ever Bead Challenge! The prize package from Potomac will be in this week and I will post pictures of exactly what beads you will be winning on next week’s blog. As far as the Bello Modo gift certificate for the runner-up, it can be used for anything on their site, except for gift certificates. All entries are now being posted on a separate page here on this blog located HERE.

Just a reminder to everyone that in addition to liking my page Becca’s Beaded Bangles, you MUST be an email subscriber to Sarcastic Beads and Yarn to be entered in the challenge. Look for this box on the blog to subscribe. Mobile users will have to scroll wayyyyyy down to the bottom and click on “View Full Site” and then scroll down just past the comments to find it. It’s a glitch in my blog theme for mobile users and I am working on getting it fixed. Liking my pages on other social media sites such as Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Path, etc. are very much appreciated, but not required.

On another note, while I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with you messaging me with your questions about the Challenge, I can not, in all fairness, advise anyone on design choices, such as colors, which design to use, bead sizes, etc. on your entries. I can answer simple yes or no questions about the rules to the Challenge, but to go beyond that would be unfair and biased, and that is just NOT cool. I recently participated in someone else’s contest where the person hosting did all of those things (and more, ugh) and the end results turned out pretty darn ugly. I refuse to run a Challenge unfairly. Period.

Also, as far as the rules for the colors go, I have had a LOT of questions regarding the use of the exact colors on the Pantone chart shown below. You do not have to match your bead color’s names to the names of the Pantone colors. For example, one of the Pantone colors is Iced Coffee. You do not have to use a bead that the color’s name is Iced Coffee. What we are looking for is your interpretation of some wonderful patterns by ONLY these great designers in the same color tones/hues as the Pantone colors. I don’t care if the name of your bead is Space Poop Silver-lined Greige. If it matches the Iced Coffee, then you have met the requirement. Also, you are not limited to just one color per design, nor are you required to use all of them in one design, ether. I WILL say that since the first round of judging is computer generated matching of colors, you would be better off using two or more of the colors, but that is entirely up to you.

So, I think I have answered all the questions that have come up so far. For future questions, please post them on the Challenge Event page on Facebook HERE. That way, everyone else who may have the exact same question gets an answer too. So many of you have had the same exact question, and it would have been so much easier to just answer it ONE time on a Facebook thread for everyone to see, than to answer 62 different individual questions.

Another thing, I would absolutely LOVE it if you would also start posting your favorite sarcasm memes on the Event page for me to use in future blog postings. Those things are hard to find when you are looking for something specific to your topic for the week! And don’t forget to show me some love (or some slightly polite indifference) with your comments below! I love hearing that little ding on my phone every time one of you comments!

Until next time, stay smart, or stay smart sassy!
